Greater Manchester Police Fined Over Data Theft
It has emerged that a USB memory stick containing sensitive personal data concerning crimes and witnesses was stolen during a burglary at a detective’s home in July 2011.
Containing details of arrest targets and the names of officer’s, the device held details of 1,075 people and was not encrypted. As a result, Greater Manchester Police has been fined £120,000 by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)…..
